Herbal Diet Recipes Packed with Nutrients and Flavor

Tomato Basil Soup

Basil is a powerful antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and adaptogen. It helps relieve stress, pain, and can help support your immune system.


  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 tbsp. Minced garlic
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 1 sweet onion, diced
  • 6 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 cups chicken or vegetable stock
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • ¼ cup finely chopped fresh basil or a few drops food-grade essential oil
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • ½ tsp. Pepper (or more)


  1. In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the garlic, carrots, and onion. Continue cooking over medium-low heat until the onions are no longer crisp.
  2. Add the chicken stock, water, and tomatoes. Let this mixture simmer for about 30 minutes.
  3. After about 30 minutes, remove the soup from the stove and blend either with a handheld blender or standard blending device until nice and smooth.
  4. Add the salt, pepper, lemon juice, basil, and parsley. Enjoy!

Rosemary Baked Artichokes

Rosemary is a powerful antibiotic and anti-inflammatory solution which may also boost memory. Artichokes are also packed with antioxidants to support liver, thyroid, and digestive function.


  • 2 artichokes, halved with chokes removed
  • 2 tbsp. Minced garlic
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 4 sprigs rosemary or a few drops food grade essential oil
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste


  1. Preheat oven to 375°
  2. Place artichokes cut-side up in a glass baking dish.
  3. Brush artichokes with lemon and olive oil then sprinkle with salt, pepper, and garlic.
  4. Add rosemary sprigs or essential oil and cover with foil.
  5. Bake for about 30 minutes or until tender.

Thyme and Lemon Baked Chicken

Thyme is loaded with vitamin A and vitamin C. It also helps support your respiratory, immune, and digestive systems. The lemon gives this recipe an added immune boost.


  • 4 chicken breasts (or the equivalent of your favorite meat substitute)
  • 2 tbsp. Minced garlic
  • ½ cup chicken or vegetable stock
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • 3 sprigs thyme or a few drops of food-grade essential oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 lemon, wedged


  1. Preheat oven to 400°
  2. Place chicken breasts in a glass baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle garlic, salt, and pepper on top.
  4. Pour in chicken or vegetable stock along with the lemon juice. Top with thyme sprigs or essential oil.
  5. Bake for about 30 or 40 minutes basting halfway through.
  6. Serve with lemon wedges as garnish. Enjoy!

Coconut Lavender Lattes

Lavender has been used for centuries due to its stress relieving properties.  This powerful herb may also aid the nervous system, promote quality sleep, and enhance blood circulation. Out of all the herbal diet recipes, this one is perfect for curling up on the couch with a good book on a cold day.


  • 6 oz. Of your favorite coffee
  • 4 oz. Coconut or almond milk
  • 1 tbsp. Coconut or almond creamer
  • 1 drop food-grade essential oil or about 1 tablespoon lavender-infused syrup


  1. Combine warm coffee along with steamed milk in a large mug.
  2. If using essential oil, dip a sanitary toothpick straight into the bottle and add just a touch to your beverage. Lavender oil is very concentrated, so one drop might be much too over-powering.
